Beefcake, or The West River Strangler
By Tess Jones
Directed by Justin Anderson
Robin and Margaret have been best friends for as long as they can remember. Sure, they have their problems and yes, they haven’t really accomplished much since high school. Still, why not go to their ten-year reunion to catch up with old friends, make fun of all the losers and stalk Robin’s ex-girlfriend who recently walked out on her. On a night like this, why not kinda steal a car for a road trip to chase an old dream. When the ride seems dull, just pick up a hitchhiker or three to pass the time. This play is snarky, inappropriate and over-the-top fun. It reminds us all of the treasure that is a ride-or-die best friend.
This special edition of Aurora’s Cyber Stage is presented in collaboration with Georgia Gwinnett College and will feature an all-student cast.
Cyber Stage from Aurora Theatre will feature new plays, many of which have been created specifically to be presented in a virtual setting. Curated and directed by Aurora Theatre Associate Artistic Director Justin Anderson. Performed by professional actors from the prestigious Aurora Apprentice program, this new way to experience live theatre will thrill you while remaining safe and secure at home. Following the performance, the cast will take questions from the audience.
