Welcome to 2020
Devised by Georgia Gwinnett College Students
Directed by Renita James
College years are supposed to be the time of your life and 2020 brought the promise of a brand new decade. Instead 2020 dropped on our nation like a ton of bricks with Covid 19 exacerbating society’s ills. Welcome to 2020 is an evening of short plays inspired by the trials and tribulations of this year. Created and performed by Georgia Gwinnett College students, this show was devised to take place in a digital space. Fueled by their unique voice these shorts navigate the students personal experiences on the topics of relationships, race, and cultural identity in a high energy, highly entertaining performance piece.
Content Advisory: This play contains strong language and adult themes.
Cyber Stage from Aurora Theatre will feature new plays, many of which have been created specifically to be presented in a virtual setting. Curated by Aurora Theatre Associate Artistic Director Justin Anderson. Performed by professional actors from the prestigious Aurora Apprentice program, this new way to experience live theatre will thrill you while remaining safe and secure at home. Following the performance, the cast will take questions from the audience.
