IRISDELIA GARCIA (she/they) is an interdisciplinary Nuyorican artist and educator exploring the body as archive, theater as ritual, and intergenerational storytelling. Her work explores hauntings, grief, and culturally specific modes of corporeal histories. Garcia has worked in residency with La Pocha Nostra, Ping Chong and Company, EMERGENYC, The Wax Factory, GALLIM, and the Maggee Allesee National Center for Choreography. Her work and collaborations have been shown at The New School, Amherst College, The BRIC, the wild project, HEREArts, EnGarde Arts, and The Tank. Garcia holds a BA in English (summa) from Amherst College with a Digital Humanities concentration and a Multicultural Theater Practice Certificate. She holds an MFA in Contemporary Theatre and Performance at The New School minoring in Creative Community Development. Garcia’s teaching is core to her creative practice, currently teaching with Ping Chong and Company, Theater Development Fund, and Rybin Talent. She has taught previously with the Dia Art Foundation, OSSProject, Children’s Museum of Manhattan, and Casita Maria Center for Arts and Education.
