Edwin Mireles

Edwin Mireles– Edwin Mireles was born in Riverdale and raised in Forest Park, GA. He is a proud son of two immigrant parents who left everything behind to give him a chance at a future they never had. He is currently studying Finance at Georgia State University. Photography hasn’t always been a part of his life; in fact, he has only been taking photos for about two years. It all began when he took a trip to Japan and brought along two disposable cameras. What started as a simple experiment quickly grew into a passion. One he continues to nurture as he travels. Edwin finds joy in capturing raw emotions, feelings, and moments. He has traveled across five continents, documenting life and stories in each of them. He is also a member of a photography club called Captura, where one of his proudest accomplishments was contributing to a collaborative photobook. The project titled “We’ll get there no matter what” highlights the transportation inequity faced by minority communities along Buford Highway, shedding light on the lack of accessible infrastructure.
