“BIG KENNEY” JOHNSON talents. His unique brand of reality-based humor and storytelling are universal in appeal and his quick wit and funny characters draw an audience in and holds their attention. In addition to standup comedy and acting Big Kenney is the co-host of a sports and entertainment radio show, a television writer and an expert level improv artist. Big Kenney was recognized in 2009 by Creative Loafing magazine for his award winning standup comedy classes. One of the accomplishments that he is most proud of is the development of his Improv based team building workshop called GIGGLE YOUR WAY TO GREATNESS. It has been proven effective for work environments of all kinds. It has been successfully conducted for the students and staff of Fulton County’s Communities in Schools Atlanta, The University of West Georgia, the Aurora Theatre, Fulton and Dekalb county school systems as well as the United States Army and The Association of Black Realtors and Bank of America. Big Kenney has always made it his mission to inform as well as entertain and GYWTG has proven to be the key to accomplishing those goals. |

JOEL BYARS Growing up in a house of educators, Joel has combined his passions of educating and entertaining by teaching comedy classes, hosting his award winning Hot Breath! Podcast, and co-authoring “The Comic’s Playbook” with MIT alum Dr. Robert Joseph. All of Joel’s professional endeavors are designed to help people discover their creative potential through educated entertainment. This success has only driven Joel to keep challenging the limits of himself and comedy to empower others. |
Will there be food or drinks?
There will be drinks! Our partner for the evening, Ironshield Brewing, will have beer on tap available for purchase before and during the shows.
What does General Admission mean?
Your ticket allows you entrance into the The Biergarten at Ironshield, which is a large outdoor space without designated seating.
A few picnic tables are available on a first-come first-served basis. If you would like to ensure you don’t have to stand the entire show, we encourage you to bring a camp chair. Appropriate social distance will be enforced by our staff.
How will you keep things safe and sanitized?
The health and safety of our patrons, staff, and artists are foremost in our planning of Aurora Comedy Under the Stars. In addition to fully-outside seating, all staff will be fully masked during the event.
