Aurora Theatre presents
Christmas Canteen (in July) 2021
Jul 24, 2021-Jul 25, 2021
Christmas only comes once a year… and that is simply not enough. Aurora Theatre is hauling out the holly for a summertime sprinkle of holiday magic. Christmas Canteen (in July) will be the inaugural show in the Lawrenceville Arts Center Courtyard. Bring your beach chairs and kick back for an evening of fun al fresco. Just like the wintertime version, this show has humor, heart and spectacular music. Don’t miss the debut of The Courtyard providing you with a safe space for us to gather. Christmas Canteen (in July) has us more excited than a child trying to fall asleep on Christmas Eve.
The Courtyard is the outdoor performing space at the new Lawrenceville Arts Center.
SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS
- Outdoor Event (Restrooms, food and beverage service will be available inside the facility).
- Touchless transaction – advanced ticket purchase only.
- Aurora Staff will be masked.
- Hand sanitizer will be readily available.
- We are all in this together – we encourage wearing masks when moving about and not eating or drinking.
Will there be food or drinks?
Yes! Aurora Theatre’s concession and bar will be open before the performance.
Can I bring my own food or drinks?
Patrons are permitted to bring personal food items and small coolers. Space in the courtyard is limited, if your items are too large you will be asked to stow them in your vehicle. No outside alcohol permitted.
What does VIP Tent seating mean?
We will have a limited number of tents set up in the Courtyard that provide a shaded, more VIP experience. Each tent will be set up with a table and 6 seats.
What does Premium Seating mean?
Don’t want to bring a chair and want to make sure you have a seat closest to the stage? The Seated section is for you. We’ll have chairs set in traditional theatre seating rows. Seating will be assigned by us based on the best available to accommodate the size of your party.
What does Bring Your Own Chair mean?
Your ticket allows you entrance into the Courtyard, which is a large outdoor space. We’ve dedicated a section without designated seating.
If you would like to ensure you don’t have to stand the entire show, we encourage you to bring a camp chair. Our staff and volunteers may need to adjust where and how you have set up your chairs so we can comfortably accommodate all of the ticketed patrons.
What is the plan for bad weather?
In the unlikely event of inclement weather, performances will take place in the Mainstage theatre. Indoor seating assignments will be prioritized based on the outdoor section purchased.
Safety precautions:
- Touchless transaction – advanced ticket purchase only.
- Hand sanitizer will be readily available.
- We are all in this together – please wear a mask when not eating or drinking.
This Christmas (in July), you can help us be a Summer Santa to kids in need!
We’ve partnered with Gwinnett County Public Schools to accept donations and collect school supplies to distribute to kids through their Community-Based Mentoring Hispanic Boys & Girls Priority: P.A.S.O.S. At each performance of Christmas Canteen (in July), P.A.S.O.S. will be here collecting donations of school supplies. Don’t have time to shop? You can also donate directly online here. |
School supplies needed include:
- Backpacks
- Composition notebooks
- Coloring pencils/markers
- 3-ring Binders and Dividers
- Flash drives
- Copy paper
- Highlighters
- Big Ticket Item: Laptops! One thing we’ve learned during this past year is the urgent need for technology for students.
Direct monetary donations will help towards the purchase of supplies, including laptops.
